I'm a huge Green Lantern fan and I've been waiting for this film to come out since forever. I was so excited when DC announced that it would be released on Blu-Ray and HD DVD, but unexpectedly the release date changed from December 23rd to April 17th, three days after my birthday! So my sis bought me a digital copy of the movie. It's been amazing watching it on my PS3 while listening to some Green Day while playing Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2 multiplayer on split screen with 3 friends, all while we're singing along. This movie is what all superhero films should aspire towards. It's epic, dramatic, and action-packed with heart and emotion. I absolutely loved it. I feel like it's the live action version of the animated series. The story had a lot of character development and you get to know Hal and his background more than in the previous films. The movie had a lot of great dialogue exchanges between Hal and Carol while they were trying to save Oa while everyone on Earth thought they were gone for good. The movie also showed the importance of friendship and family throughout its entire duration, which is something that was not seen in any other superhero film before it, due to its more serious tone than other superhero films such as Iron Man 2 or Thor (film). Overall, the movie is definitely worth the money and if you're looking for a great superhero movie that is deep and emotional, then this movie is definitely for you. Plot Edit Edit The Guardians of the Universe come to Earth after Hal Jordan has gone missing, due to his errors in judgment. After detecting his presence on Earth they send Sinestro (a former Green Lantern) along with several other Lanterns to find him. The Guardians also send Hal's old friend Hector Hammond (Hal's father) who had been training Hal as an ambassador to Oa following Hal's return from his unsuccessful mission on Sinestro Corps member Mongul. Hal is on a mission to save his old friend Carol Ferris, a childhood friend of his. Hector has been secretly trying to protect Hal from his quest of finding the last of Sinestro's Yellowaxes. Hal and the Guardians of the Universe also send Guy Gardner, John Stewart and Kilowog to find him as well. Hal wants revenge for all the lives lost on Sinestro Corps member Mongul's attack on Oa however, Hal was unable to stop the destruction and capture of many legendary Green Lanterns such as Sinestro and Abin Sur by Mongul during their first meeting and is now facing execution for his failure at stopping Oa from being destroyed by Mongul. Hal is put on trial and sentenced to death, however a miraculous event occurs allowing Hal to become a Guardian of the Universe but in order for him to do so, he must go into space and rescue the last of Sinestro's Yellowaxes from Mongul after they escaped from Oa. He boards a rocket along with Carol and Hector and travels through space. Along the way he encounters Sinestro who reveals that he was guilty for what Hal did to him at Oa which leads Hal's plan of taking over the Corps backfiring when Sinestro decides to fight against him after being convinced by Hal. cfa1e77820
